Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 provides grants to research and innovation projects through open and competitive calls for proposals. It is implemented by the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union, to complete the European Research Area (ERA) by coordinating national research policies and pooling research funding in certain areas to avoid duplication.

G-MOTIT

Galileo-Enhanced MOTIT: an electric scooter sharing service for sustainable urban mobility- MOTIT is a unique and innovative electric scooter sharing service, in which users may reserve a scooter with their smartphone and can pick up and drop off vehicles wherever and whenever they want. Vehicle positioning performance is key for the success of theservice, since the user needs to be informed on where to pick up the reserved vehicle. G-MOTIT developed and integrated an EGNSS-based location technology. The location solution was be validated both functionally and operationally in Barcelona and in the greater Paris region.

JUPITER

JUPITER: Joint European Project for International ITS/EGNSS awareness Raising. JUPITER promoted activities for fostering business development of EGNSS-based applications worldwide for mobility and transportation. In order to ensure that EGNSS comes to prominence in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) sector, the added value of EGNSS, compared to or in combination with GPS/Glonass/Beidou constellations, was demonstrated and promoted within the project. In this context, application developers were trained in order for them to take advantage of EGNSS and to efficiently implement GALILEO positioning in their applications.
